The Teeth of the Sea

At Longniddry Bents,
the teeth of the sea gnawing
the horizon’s blues.
Seven days on from dad’s death,
I walk this unfamiliar shoreline
unsure how I should feel,
and frayed
at the meniscus of making-do.
